Episode #4 - San Antonio Spirits
In this special episode, Mindy talks about some of her favorite scary tales from the years she spent living in San Antonio, Texas.
The first tale is a popular Southwestern spirit, La Llorona, the crying woman. Her wailing spirit is said to walk waterways throughout the Southwest looking for her children.
Next up is el chupacabra. Some descriptions of the creature include this and this. A few years back, this creature was caught but was later proven to be a coyote with mange. Is the creature in this video el chupacabra?
The third creepy tale is that of Donkey Lady Bridge, a place Mindy visited with her friends and still finds herself spooked by.
Mindy’s fourth tale is that of lechusa. This creature is said to have the body of an owl and head of a woman, and a sighting of it often foretells death.
The final two tales come from When Darkness Falls: Tales of San Antonio Ghosts and Hauntings by Docia Schultz Williams. The first is that of The Dancing Devil, and the other is the Haunted Railroad Tracks. This book contains many more great hauntings from San Antonio.
